1. WHAT MAKES THERMASAFE SAFER THAN A PROCEDURAL MASK?
Studies show that the actual effectiveness of a procedural mask is 30%. The reasons for this relatively low effectiveness rate are problems with sealing around the mask, skin imperfections, heat, sweat, and sudden changes in airflow velocity due to coughing and sneezing.
ThermaSafe is more than just a mask: it’s a powered air purifying respirator (PAPR), i.e. a filtration and pathogen neutralization system that connects to a mask. The device features a patented stainless-steel filter that is the most effective on the market. It has a filtration capacity of 99.9999999%, which intercepts particles of 1.5 nm or more, unlike other technologies which filter particles of 300 nm or more.

2. IS THE THERMASAFE PAPR MASK WASHABLE?
Yes, the reusable mask (either full or half facepiece) used with the ThermaSafe filtration and neutralization system is a standard mask that can easily be washed with a wipe or by soaking in soapy water, according to manufacturer specifications.
3. IS THE FILTER WASHABLE?
The ThermaSafe filtration system is completely washable. The low-maintenance stainless-steel filter should be washed by soaking in clean boiling water every 6 months.
4. HOW LONG DOES THE STAINLESS-STEEL FILTER LAST, AND HOW OFTEN SHOULD IT BE REPLACED?
The stainless-steel filter has a lifespan of up to 5 years. If the device is used frequently or by several people, it is recommended to replace the filter every 2 years.
5. ARE THE MASK AND FILTER RECYCLABLE?
Although the elastomer mask and stainless-steel filter are both reusable and recyclable, they should ideally be replaced after 2 years of use, or according to manufacturer specifications.
6. WHAT’S THE BATTERY LIFE AND BATTERY CHARGING TIME FOR THE PORTABLE THERMASAFE MODEL?
The ThermaSafe system was designed for continuous use, with batteries that have hot-swap capability. The system has a 3-hour battery life if used with nominal air flow. The portable model comes with two batteries, so users can always have a fully charged battery at hand. It takes about 60 minutes to charge a battery.
7. HOW MUCH DOES THE PORTABLE FILTRATION SYSTEM WEIGH?
The ThermaSafe portable filtration system weighs 5 pounds (2.3 kg) with the battery. In comparison, the average construction toolbelt weighs about 10 pounds (5 kg).
8. DOES THE THERMASAFE MASK CAUSE PERSPIRATION?
The ThermaSafe system causes practically no perspiration at all, as opposed to an N95 mask, which traps heat and humidity. ThermaSafe is a true filtration system that consistently supplies fresh air in the mask.

The mask is NIOSH-certified for its tightness. Made of plastic and elastomer, and offered in several sizes, it is flexible and adapts perfectly to any face.
